Versus Zack Part Two

A/N: I apologize for the inconsistency in media from Part One to Part Two, and I'm aware that this is probably against the rules of Pokemon-League, but there is no way I can write another comic at the moment.
A/N2: The following plot and conclusion of this battle have been agreed upon by both The-Talking-Absol and myself.

No matter how strong you are, there's always someone better than you. Someone who slaughters you, mocks and scorns your every move, and can't even be bothered to remember your name. For me, that person is Zack. I didn't know him before the accident. Kay tells me he was kind and sweet once, but looking at him now? … I don't believe it. When I traveled in Jhoto he and I battled several times, and he thrashed my team at every turn.

Shiraha's shimmering blue body emerged in a flash of white light. She arched her neck and snarled at Janis and Lilly. Luthra trotted up to Shiraha and grinned. The battle had hardly begun and already it has taken a turn for the worst. One Ice Beam from Janis would knock Shiraha out in an instant, and Luthra was in no condition to carry this fight on her own. Her breathing was labored, but Janis was also struggling to stand. A super effective Iron Tail from Luthra followed by a RockSlide on Dante's part was enough to cripple any Ice type.

"Luthra, set up a Magnet Rise! Shiraha, finish Janis with FlameThrower!" I shouted.

They eagerly obeyed. Luthra dragged her feet back and forth along the ground, creating static friction and lifting her body off the ground. A stream of orange flames burst from Shiraha's mouth engulfing Janis. The injured Weavile screeched and tried to pull her leg out from under one of the rocks that had struck her earlier to no avail.

Zack cocked his head and silently returned Janis. He drew another Pokeball from his belt.

"Skar-"

'ATTENTION ALL TRAINERS! We are reminding you that only 20 slots remain for the upcoming Quick Draw Tournament! The deadline for entry is December 31, SO GET MOVING!'

I sighed, grateful that I'd entered so early. This announcement didn't concern me so I turned back to the battle before me.  Zack however, seemed interested. Her returned Lilly to her ball and replace Skar's and Lilliy's Pokeballs on his belt.  He turned, and walked away.

I was completely taken aback. Never, not even in Jhoto has he canceled a battle with me!

"Hey!" I shouted, "Where do you think you're going? We're not done yet!"

He glanced over his shoulder. "Wanna bet?"

"Excuse me!?" I ran after him, Lulu and Shira following close behind. "You can't do this, we're in the middle of a battle. Look at me when I'm talking to you, where're you going?"

"To register for that Quick Draw Tournament. Oh I'm sorry, did you actually think that battle was worth staying to finish?"
"Wha- Hey you challenged me! You think I'm gonna just let you walk away?"

"Yup."

"You-"

"Listen!" He turned sharply to face me, and glared. "I only challenged you because I thought that after all this time you might possibly have gotten just a little bit stronger. It didn't take long to figure out that you haven't changed a bit since the last time we met, and I won't waste my time on you." With that, he strode briskly away without another word.

"DON'T YOU TURN YOUR BACK ON ME, ZACK!!!!" I shouted after him. He didn't even flinch, let alone turn around.

I didn't try to follow him this time. Luthra floated down a little from her Magnet Rise and nuzzled my face. I reached up to stroke her fur and returned a very angry Shira to her ball.

"C'mon Lulu, I'm getting kinda hungry..."  

So that's it then. I haven't changed a bit and neither has he.
